Can someone offer me some assistance on downloading the Opel update Navigation file
I have downloaded the 7.5 Gb file and unpacked the contents, but this leaves me with Numerous files such as
dyn.A1.bsh.tar.bin
see attached jpg

Question

Is this the file I download to the USB stick
or
Do I further unpack the Bin files (tried that with Winzip but it fails)
or
What next ?

I was expecting to see exe files and normal jpg folders ?

Any help would be appreciated

If this is of any help, here is a copy of the email sent from the "My Vauxhall" app.
When I ran the download exe file, it asks for your vin number and the rest of the process is all prompted.....

"Hello,
Your navigation system will be updated by VAUXHALL Update Application. This application will prepare the USB key that you should use in your vehicle.

If you have already installed the application, open it and start the download of the update.

If you haven't installed the application yet, Install VAUXHALL Update Application from the links below:
For Windows: https://d1tik0o5ahgjm.cloudfront.net/op ... update.exe
For MAC: https://d1tik0o5ahgjm.cloudfront.net/op ... update.dmg

Make sure that the application is installed and saved in your computer's hard drive and not directly in an external support connected by USB.

You must have administrator rights on the computer and a broadband Internet connection."

I have gone down that route, but the Display returns "This USB Connection is incompatible"
Cant be ,as I purchased a new 32Gb Scandisk from Argos

The file I downloaded was an "Opel_Update" directed by VX web page
Did you unpak the download or directly load it onto the USB
I have been upacking the Download that could have been my error

Thanks for you advice

The download, unpacking & loading to the USB stick was prompted when you run "Opel_Update".

However, I did have a problem with a 32GB USB, I used a 64GB instead and that worked.

I haven't yet tried to plug the USB into the car as I believe it takes over an hour with the engine running to update the maps.

Drats, nipped into Argos yesterday and purchased 32Gb Drive
Looks as though I may have to return for a 64 then
Yes, I read about the engine running for an hour, but I read somewhere you have the option to delete unnecessary maps (like Algeria) and the time came down to 35 mins - still a long time

CRACKED IT

On the first download the 7.5GB file was loaded into a folder and stopped,

On my second download it talked me thro the process of loading the relevant information onto a formatted USB Drive

This didnt happen on the initial download leaving me very confused as what to do next

Thanks for all the advice
