Hi All . Appreciate ICE cars need servicing every year, certainly for oil and every 2 for brake fluid, filters etc BUT should E cars need this too.
Yes manufacturer recalls and some software updates might need dealership activity but otherwise?
I ask this question because we bought a new E Corsa in 22 which had the 1 year initial service and then we decided to ask for quotes for a service agreement.
Initially we were quoted yearly servicing but when I queued this and said surely its only every 2 years after the initial service and eventually we agreed a service plan for year 3 , 5 & 7 etc. All went well until the 2nd year anniversary approached and we received a phone call from the dealer to arrange a service then an email later to remind us to book the service. I then sent an e mail asking why it need a service in the 2nd year when we had a service agreement set up ( 3rd & 5th yrs) and surely the telemetry was telling them the cars details too. The reply was they would have to refer to service advisors in St. Helens for advice.
My question is why don't these dealerships know what the service intervals are and if they don't why did they sell us a service agreement for every 2 years!
See page 229 of the owners manual for information.
